Introducing: Maker Monday

Maker Monday Blog

Hey, there!  Holly from Let the Wild Rumpus Start, and I have started a new project: Maker Monday!  We are hoping that this new roundup will help youth services librarians (that work with kids of all ages), discover, share, and learn about cool things that other librarians are doing in their ‘maker’ programs.  Making can be anything from hard technology with raspberry pi and sphero, to soft technology like knitting and sewing, STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Math), painting, using tools, building, creating…. the list goes on and on.  The maker movement focuses on process (while also getting a pretty neat product usually), and exploration with open ended questions.  Essentially we are teaching kids how to become content creators, rather than only content consumers.

Anyways– head on over to the Maker Monday blog to see our September roundup and to learn more about how you can be featured.

  1. Very excited that you and Holly started this round-up. More fine fuel to sparkle up kids library programming (and to share in my courses!)
