Flannel Friday: Dig Into Reading with Johnny’s Hammers.

Flannel Friday: Dig Into Reading with Johnny’s Hammers.

Our storytime theme this week for Dig Into Reading is Construction– which was sure to be a big hit for a lot of toddlers! My full toddler storytime construction outline will be posted later this week.

Johhny’s Hammers
inspired by Perpetual Preschool, but I changed it around a little bit.

Johnny had one hammer, one hammer, one hammer, Johnny had one hammer
so he could build.

Johnny had 2 hammers, 2 hammers, 2 hammers, Johnny had 2 hammers
so he could build.

Johnny had 3 hammers, 3 hammers, 3 hammers, Johnny had 3 hammers
so he could build.

Johnny had 5 hammers, 5 hammers, 5 hammers, Johnny had 5 hammers,
then he was done!

———-

I changed the ending of each verse so that we could use one of our sign language words for this week, which was BUILD… more on that in a different post!

  1. Thanks for sharing, Meg! I could have used this when I did a construction themed story time in the spring. Definitely adding it to my “to make” list.

  2. I know this song as ‘Noah built with 1 Hammer’. Love your adaptation…cute pattern too. Thanks for sharing!
